My Story

I'm Alex Coloschi, and I create sculptures, 2D artworks, and sterling silver rings. While my jewellery may be the focal point of this space, it's the story behind each piece that truly defines my artistic journey.

Behind the scenes, my art serves a dual purpose. It's not just a creative expression; it's a lifeline. I discovered solace and self-discovery in my artistic endeavours. In the past 2 years, I have been troubled with constant, horrific hallucinations, which have greatly impacted my life on a day-to-day basis and disrupted the trajectory of my life. However, this didn't end my life's momentum; instead, it spurred me to find new ways to navigate and create meaning amidst the challenges.

I began expressing these visions through my art, which proved to be a form of therapy and allowed me to express my experiences. In my work, I meticulously utilise various techniques to represent the horrors imbued by the hallucinations I experience. My creations vividly communicate the core themes of struggle and torment. However, the pure fact that my art exists represents the dichotomy of my experiences—a portrayal of pain and perseverance.

During my struggle, I launched my own jewellery business. Fueled by inspiration, observation, and relentless determination, I embarked on this journey. By watching others, meticulously taking notes, and engaging in copious amounts of trial and error, I began trying to perfect my work. I strive not just to craft beautiful pieces but to conquer a personal challenge. It's a challenge to prove to myself and others that, even in the face of relentless struggles, accomplishment is within reach through effort and consistency.
